We have two beaches in front of us. The Waimarama Beach and Ocean Beach. Armando thinks that Ocean Beach is a romantic one. The 10-minute drive to the beach is beautiful and shows you a bit of Hawkes Bay coastal back countryside. Ocean Beach is long, wild and pure New Zealand. You can walk there forever without meeting one soul.

Both house beaches are offering typical fun things to do. An ice cream shop in Waimarama, million-dollar houses along your beach stroll and surf lifeguards during peak season (Check their website).

Winter in our romantic small boutique Hotel on the coast is very special. The wood-fired bread and pizza oven in the kitchen of the main house offers a unique atmosphere. Armando loves to cook in the oven in the winter. For him, it is going back to the roots. Get the basics right without using technology and feel the heat and the cosiness from the oven.

Spring in Hawkes Bay, particularly at the coast, are mild. A sunny day can be warm enough to sit outside. When spring starts in September, it is no surprise that it feels not much different than a beautiful summer day with low temperature. That is precisely the difference, besides the fruit orchards are in full blossoms. Spring is fantastic! It is never too warm and the nights are cold. Spring is also the time when there is enough rain to keep the hills and the grass in the garden green. We think spring is the most romantic time for a luxury romantic trip itinerary in New Zealand.

September - Still a bit fresh. Not many tourists around. Perfect time for a quiet romantic spring getaway

October - Can be enjoyable for the same reasons but you may risk some rainy days.

November - Same as October wonderful! Everything is still green, perhaps some wind and rain but the region is still relaxed.

Summer - It starts quietly in December and get's busy closer to Christmas. It can still rain, and locals are busy before the festive season. Around and after Christmas most of the locals enjoy their main holiday into January. Rain usually stops at the end of December and Hawkes Bay starts to get dry until autumn brings back some rain.

Dezember - Still some rain. Great time with not so many tourists around. Towards the end of December, different Summer attractions start to kick off, and Hawkes Bay start's to enjoy the outdoors.

January - Best Time. The region is buzzing. Rain usually stops at the end of December and Hawkes Bay starts to get dry until autumn brings back some rain. Accommodations are often fully booked until the end of March. Winery concerts, open-air cinemas, specialised markets, busy restaurants and a lot of local summer activities and attractions in Hawkes Bay

February - Same as January. Sometimes no rain at all. Days after days of sunshine.

March - Summer is slowing down still fantastic weather.

Autumn - The perfect time for romantic trips. The hills are still not green but slowly start to recover from some rain relief. It is like Spring. The perfect time for romantic trips. The weather can be fantastic and the nights are cooler again. Still warm days.

April - Great! Quiet. Sunny days and perfect temperatures. Not much rain.

Mai - Time to start the cosy fireplace in some evenings.

June - Time to do all the romantic things at home. Start the fireplace. Have a quiet evening and a romantic dinner and a hot chocolate in front of the crackling fire.
