Five Star Accommodation and Restaurants in Hawkes Bay We have two great recommendations for you! A beautifully preserved monastery - La grand Maison and a modern contemporary Winery. Both offer accommodations. By Marianne Faes Wonderful Places to Stay and Eat Bay Guesthouse Hawkes Bay Elephant Hill Te Awanga We serve simple pleasures - a three-course Menu for 55 NZD p.p.. Very intimate nothing compared to a buzzing restaurant with a full Kitchen Brigade and high decorated Head Chef. Our guests often have dinner with us when they arrive. They want to put their feet up, relax and have dinner at home. On the second day, exploring the bay and of course some wineries, there is plenty of dinner options in one of the fantastic Hawkes Bay restaurants. Elephant Hill Restaurant Award-winning Te Awanga Terrace View We love this place because of its setting - Modern and airy with views over the vineyard and the coast. The service quality always depends on the actual stuff unless the owner is there himself. For us, we experienced the service as very helpful, attentive humorous which is quite refreshing and professional. Comments December 2018 Elephant Hill Restaurant Many say the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Some liked the wage beef. Especially charming is that wines are available by the glass which allows a customised wine pairing or taste sharing. Also, nice the touch of sunblock and hats. Overall - This restaurant offers a real fine dining experience in a lovely atmosphere with stunning views La grand Maison - Mission Winery & Restaurant Napier The Mission in Hawkes Bay is a must visit. It's about honouring the Birthplace of New Zealand wine and oldest winery in the country. La grand Maison built in 1851 by French Missionaries is beautifully preserved. The seminary has a little Church which serves as a function place, an indoor Restaurant and a beautiful Garden Restaurant. Garden Terrace Mission Estate You do not dine here because the food is fantastic or the service is the best in the Bay - It's about to drive through the tree-lined avenue up the Mission Estate centrepiece respecting what past generations have created. Another mindblowing fact is that every year the best of the best world class artists like, Phil Collins, Rod Stewart, Barry Gibb, Carole King, Tom Jones, Eric Clapton, Chris De Burgh, Olivia Newton-John, Julio Iglesias, Beach Boys, Shirley Bassey, Ray Charles and many more performed in this Winery in front of a little crowd of 20'000. Why did they visit this place?
